this calf was born during the Caldor Fair, the fire was only miles away from us. Since this calf was born during the fire Logan named him Burnt Toast. He is now a herd sire in Nevada
French Vanilla was a first time heifer, we watched her water break then notice her vaginal wall was coming out, we quickly ran her to the pen. We first thought we need to move “some things” around and pull the calf, but unfortunately wasn’t the case. After many phone call we got a vet from Galt to come. French Vanilla’s cervix was not dilated but the calf was trying to push out, Dr. Mc Arthur performed a C Section on French Vanilla that we all got to assist with. 2 days later French prolapsed again and Dr. Mc Arthur came out, he fixed her but found while she prolapsed he found the true reason she couldn’t have the calf… French Vanilla has 2 cervixs! so the calf didn’t know what side to come out.
French Vanilla is no longer to have babies so she resides in El Dorado County with a family that has her as a pet
